Barbara O’Brien is the principal flutist of the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra, the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra, and Renaissance City Winds and the second flutist of the Pittsburgh Ballet Orchestra. Principal flutist of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic for five years, O’Brien earned the music performance degree at Duquesne University. She has given numerous solo and chamber performances, including touring with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as substitute second flute. Ms O'Brien has performed many festivals including the Spoleto Festival Orchestra, the Eastern Music Festival, the New Hampshire Music Festival, the Sunflower Music Festival and the Buzzards Bay Musicfest.
